So, if you are interested and available, the Capital Grille would be a great spot to meet from 6:30 to 8 on Sunday for a quick drink before walking south across the mall to the A&S Museum. You will get a great view of the Capital as you exit the restaurant, which is located at the corner of Pennsylvania and 6th St. NW ( 601 Pennsylvania Ave, 202-737-6200). Take a left on Penn and walk 2 blocks to 4th St NW - turn right there, walk through the Mall and you are at the Air and Space Museum. The bar is open to the public that evening and looks kinda clubby.
I propose we leave this option open so if you can get dressed for the ball in time to stop by and have a quick drink before the 8pm ball, great! Likewise, for those folks that are not going to the ball and still have energy after being at the concert all day, another great option!
